Novie Ann Fuld, nee Thornhill, age 54, of O’Fallon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, born March 19, 1958 in Bluefield, W.Va. to Robert Emmett and Lucille Shipp, nee Wooten, Thornhill, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 19, 2012, at her home, with her family near her side.
Mrs. Fuld graduated from Bluefield High School in 1976, and earned her BA in Marketing from West Virginia University. She received her military commission via the ROTC program and during her 10-year Air Force career, she earned the Meritorious Service Medal, two Air Force Commendation Medals, and the Humanitarian Service Medal for her work in the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo. She attained her MBA from Western Illinois University.
Novie was the founder and president of ElderServe, Inc. in O’Fallon, assisting clients with financial advice and health claims. She had previously worked as the General Manager of a family-owned commercial real estate business in Orlando, Fla., and was responsible for saving the family business. She was the Past Regent of Belleville Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and DAR’s Illinois State Chairman Project Patriot.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church O’Fallon, where she was a Sunday School teacher and VBS volunteer. FBC O’Fallon was where she found the opportunity to serve others in many ministries, sharing her talents and enriching her Christian faith. Her passion for helping people was only surpassed by her passion for loving Jesus Christ.
Novie was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was very proud of her daughters. She was a loyal friend, never pretentious, and eager to find the best in others.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband James H. Fuld, of O’Fallon; her daughters, Brittany Lynn (Matthew) Bauman of Las Vegas, Nev.; Caitlin Leigh Fuld, attending St. Louis University School of Nursing; and Elizabeth Ashley Fuld, attending Missouri Baptist University; her grandson Ryan Gabriel Bauman; her sister Margaret Alice Counts of St. Peters, Mo.; and her mother-in-law Adelle Pastman of Boca Raton, Fla.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O’Fallon, and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2012, at First Baptist Church, O’Fallon.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church O’Fallon, with Rev. Dr. Doug Munton and Rev. Skip Leininger officiating. Following the service, lunch wil be served at the church. Procession will depart 12:15 p.m. for interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
