Dr. Adrian Barcus, age 39, of O'Fallon, born June 5, 1978 in Camp Pendleton, Calif., died August 10, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Adrian grew up in a Marine Corps family and moved often. He graduated high school in Buffalo Grove, Ill., at age 15, then attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., and University of Illinois Medical School, graduating in 2003. He was commissioned in the US Air Force in 2003, and served at Wright-Patterson AFB and Scott AFB. He was also stationed in Iraq in 2007-08, where he earned the Purple Heart. Upon completion of his military service in 2010, he began his full-time position as an internal medicine specialist at Memorial Hospital where he was the medical director of the hospitalist group. Adrian was loved much by his family, and he will be missed by his wife and children.

Surviving are his wife Katrina Bergman, whom he married May 3, 2003; his daughter Alia and son Simon; his brother Matthew Barcus, his father Thomas Barcus, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Richard and Diane Bergman, and brother-in-law Eric Bergman.
He was preceded in death by his mother Kuem Barcus.
Memorial Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 6:00 pm, Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill.
