Aletha M. Nelson, nee Braun, age 94, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born May 23, 1928 in Shiloh, passed away December 20, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Aletha was born and raised in Shiloh, Ill., and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School. She had worked as a lunch and recess monitor at William Holliday School and enjoyed travelling with her husband and sisters. She was a loving and doting MaMa to her grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren will remember her for being full of love and kindness and spending time together in the kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford; her parents Hans and Micha, nee Stephenson, Braun; and her daughters Beth Higgins and Diane Trimble.

She is survived by and will be missed by her grandchildren Stephanie (Warren) Cole & their son Brody; Stephen (Michelle) Trimble & children Emma, Jacob, and Matthew; Kristina Dallas & children Tatum and Teagan; and Kayla (John) Welge & their daughter Joni Beth; sons-in-law David Trimble and Keevin Higgins; and her sister Sarah "Pete" Braun.
