Alice M. Rasp

Alice Mae Rasp, nee Whitehead, age 86, of O'Fallon, born September 27, 1926 in O'Fallon, to Herbert and Marie, nee Martin, Whitehead, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012.

Alice grew up in O'Fallon and was a 1944 graduate of OTHS. She had worked as a dental receptionist in O'Fallon and later in Belleville for Dr. Eric Schlechte, D.D.S. She was a member of Senior Citizens Club of O'Fallon and Yesterday's Kids of St. Nicholas Parish.

Alice was loved by all her knew her. She was a compassionate person and her warm smile had the ability to make anyone feel welcome. Alice loved getting together with her friends and family. She was a good cook and enjoyed quilting. Alice was a loving wife and excellent mother. Her presence will be missed, but we are happy for her and celebrate her life.

Special thanks and appreciation to Cedarhurst of Shiloh, where Alice was surrounded by genuine loving care.

Surviving are her son Marty (Diane) Rasp of Belleville, and three nieces: Lisa Mottin, Debbie Weichert, and Cyndi Kaufman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, whom she married May 13, 1950, and who died August 10, 1996; her parents, brother Herbert Whitehead, Jr., and sister Dorothy Wolf.

Memorial donations are kindly requested to St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, Ill. Yesterday's Kids and O'Fallon Senior Citizens will conduct a combined walk-through at 5:30 pm.

Visitation will also be from 9:00 – 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the church.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Interment will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
