Obituary
Annabelle Rita Fergus (nee Appell), 76, of O'Fallon, Ill., passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007. She was born July 13, 1930 to Earl Elbert and Alice Ida (nee Gay) Appell in St. Louis, MO.
Mrs. Fergus had been an active member of the O'Fallon Woman's Club, St. Clare Catholic Church Altar Sodality, O'Fallon Book Club, and the Officer Wives' Club at Scott AFB. She was self-employed as a Sales Supervisor with Shaklee Corporation for 35 years. She enjoyed reading, cake decorating, all types of creative crafts, and was a talented artist of oil paintings. Annabelle was a loving mother and grandmother and was devoted to her family and her faith.
She is survived by her five children, Lee A. (Leo) Milo of Shiloh and their children, SrA Aaron Wilson of Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX; and Leo L. Milo of Shiloh, IL; Timothy Patrick (Gigi) Fergus & their children Grant, Zachary, Mercedes, and Portia, all of Wichita, KS; Sandra A. Fergus of O'Fallon, IL; Gail A. (Jeffry) Graves and their children, Harley and Kyle, all of Corsicana, TX; Thomas Patrick (Liliana) Fergus and their children Brandon, Tylor, Sebastian, and Grace Annabelle (who is expected to arrive anyday), all of Lebanon, IL. Also surviving are special nieces Charlotte Sultrop, Linda Meyer-Adams; and Nancy Hubenthal; special nephews, Edward Menefee, Jr. and John Menefee; brothers-in-law William P. Fergus, and Paul Fergus; aunt Mary Jane Hill, and dear friend Rose (Bill) Hatley of Glen Carbon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LtCol Lawrence John Fergus, USAF, (retired), whom she married February 16, 1963; and passed away on March 18, 1992; her parents, and sister and brother-in-law, Elleen & Edward Menefee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Clare Church or in the form of Masses. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.wfh-ofallon.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 4, and after 9:30 am, Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill. The Rosary will be recited 5:00 pm, Wednesday.
Funeral Service: Procession will depart the funeral home 10:15 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007 for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Catholic Church with Reverend James Deiters presiding. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
