Obituary

Arlin John William Klingenberg was born on February 1, 1920 in Syracuse, Nebraska to William and Mathilda (Fricke) Klingenberg. He passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, IL at the age of 92 years, 11 months.

He was raised in the Syracuse area and graduated from Syracuse High School in 1939. After High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After returning from the War, he worked as a carpenter most of his life. He was united in marriage to Irene Rieckman on June 28, 1953 in Murdock, Nebraska and together they raised two children, Dean and Diane.

He was a member of the Massie Richards Post #100 American Legion and the Mid Otoe County V.F.W. #5547. He enjoyed many spectator sports as well as bowling and traveling.

He is survived by his Son: Dean (Loretta) Klingenberg, Daughter: Diane (Jerald) Campbell, 4 Grandchildren: Andrew Klingenberg, John (Chor) Campbell, Allison (David) Ziemann, Meredith Campbell 2 Great-grandchildren: Anna Ziemann, Lily Ziemann, Sister-in-law: Iola Rieckman, Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Wife - Irene Klingenberg and Sister - Elaine Landwehr.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Syracuse, NE with Rev. John Finster officiating.

Burial will be in the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska.
