Barbara Jean Goodwin, nee Woodhouse, age 87, of O'Fallon, Ill., born July 15, 1935 in Armorel, Ark., passed away Sunday evening, February 12, 2023 at her home, with family at her side.

Barbara came to Illinois in 1959 and worked at National Auto Supply Co., and later at Central Hardware as a Cashier, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Retail Clerk Union 881. Barbara was an active member at Sterling Baptist Church since March 1965, where she worked in the Pre-School Department with the little ones for over 50 years as a Sunday School teacher. Barbara Jean was a devoted wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Alberta, nee Peters, Woodhouse; brothers Rex and Leroy Woodhouse; and nephews Michael and Timothy Woodhouse.

Surviving are her husband William E. Goodwin, whom she married June 4, 1960 in Caseyville, Ill.; son Brian E. Goodwin and wife Donna, of O'Fallon; sisters Glenda (George) Allen, Brenda (Herman) Jarrett; nieces Kimberly Woodhouse, Kathy (Walt) Balcom; and sister-in-law Lou Woodhouse, all of Arkansas.

Memorial donations may be made to Sterling Baptist Church.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.

Funeral: 11 am, Friday, February 17, 2023 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Ingram officiating. Entombment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
