Obituary

Barbara K. Hall, 58, died of cancer Thursday, September 22, 2005, in Belleville, Illinois.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Charles Hall (Chris) of Delaware, Ohio, sister, Carol Lunan (Rich) of Shiloh, Illinois, and her dearly loved nephews and nieces Steve Hall (Candee), Mike Hall, Dan Hall, Beth Lunan and Eric Lunan. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Paul W. Hall, and her mother, Elizabeth A. (Scholtes) Hall.

Barbara was born in Bucyrus, Ohio. Upon graduation from high school, Barbara joined the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Her active duty assignments included tours at Biloxi AFB, MS, Udorn AB and Korat AB in Thailand, and Bolling AFB, DC, where she used her talents as a graphic artist and journalist. To affirm her love of flying, Barbara earned a private pilot license during this time.

After her military service, Barbara owned and operated a commercial art studio, Barb Hall Studio, in Marion, OH. She also founded the Sugar Run Art Association in Upper Sandusky, OH. Barbara then returned to the military life she loved by moving to Fayetteville, NC, to start a career as a Department of Army Civilian at Fort Bragg, NC. Most of her time at Fort Bragg was spent in the United States Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) as an audio visual technician. Barbara ended her career as a video producer for the United States Army at Heidelberg, Germany.

Barbara was an accomplished artist, photo-journalist, videographer, poet, and author. She was a certified scuba diver, avid kayaker, and a true humorist. Barbara's spirit will live on in the lives of the many people she touched.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at the John F. Kennedy Chapel on Fort Bragg, NC, Thursday; October 6, at 11:00 a.m.
