Nathaniel Benjamin Mueller, "Ben," age 87, of O'Fallon, was born June 11, 1936 in Collinsville, Ill., the son of Henry Andrew Mueller and Stella, nee Harrelson, Mueller. He passed away April 4, 2024 at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, Ill.
Ben grew up in Collinsville and owned and operated a television repair shop in downtown O'Fallon in the 1970s. He moved to the west coast where he continued his trade. Ben was proud of his 40 years of sobriety, and volunteered as a AA speaker, offering hope and support in prisons in California and Oregon. He moved back to O'Fallon in 2021 to be closer to family. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, swimming at the Y, and living on the farm with his daughter Julie and her husband Wayne. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his life partner Wanda Pedrotti; daughter Christi Lynn Burmester; and sister Barbara Mueller Adrian.
Surviving are his daughter Julie (Wayne) Loyet, of O'Fallon; stepson Robert (Karla) Appling of Wash., grandchildren Carolyn (Corey) Doner, Aaron (Elina) Loyet, Matthew (Anna) Burmester, Travis (Nichole) Burmester, Aleah Appling, Abigail Appling; great-grandchildren Robyn Doner, Hunter Doner, Emma Loyet, Alicia Burmester, Payton Burmester, Lane Burmester, and Dominic Doner. Also surviving are his sister Frances (Jim) Bradshaw; and nieces Deanna, Jo Ann, and Susan.
Memorial donations are suggested to BJC Hospice, as the family is grateful for their care and kindness.
Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm, Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Hope Family Church, 115 N. Madison St., Lebanon, Ill., with Pastor Loren Barton officiating, with a fellowship and visitation from 2 – 4 pm.
Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon assisted the family.
