Bernard A. Obernuefemann, age 89, lifelong resident of O'Fallon, IL, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, Illinois. He was born December 14, 1917 to David and Ida (nee Bugger) Obernuefemann. He married Onita Druessel on May 7, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 22, 2006, after 60 years of marriage. A lifelong farmer, Bernard was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church, and a charter member of Knights of Columbus #4239.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tony, Henry and Earl; sisters Odelia Ellison and Eleanora Gavin.
He is survived by his four children, son Jerry (Doris) Obernuefemann of O'Fallon and their children, Scott, Sarah, and Jessica; daughter Jeanette (Herb) Parker of Fairview Heights, IL and their children, Gary (Tracy) Parker, Jennifer (Jon) Burnett, Jason (Jennifer) Parker, and Matthew Parker; daughter Carolyn (Michael) Hanson of Galesburg, IL and their children Laura (Will) Higgins and Craig (Carli) Hanson; and daughter Ida (Michael) Schuchart of Fairview Heights and their children, Stacey (Philip) Meister, Melissa Schuchart and Geoffrey (Janice) Schuchart. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, and one brother, David Obernuefemann of Troy, IL.

Funeral Service: Funeral Procession will depart Wolfersberger Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2007 for a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Rev. James Deiters presiding.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Illinois
