Betty J. Stonecipher, age 97, formerly of Ballwin, Mo., born August 15, 1924 in Seelyville, Ind., passed away peacefully on October 9, 2021.

Betty had worked for J. Fabick Transportation, retiring in 1986. She was a longtime member of Manchester United Methodist Church in Ballwin, Mo., before moving to O'Fallon, Ill. She was a Cardinals baseball fan, and enjoyed the family's annual trip to Branson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Amos Stonecipher, Brig. Gen., Army, WWII veteran, whom she married April 17, 1948, and who passed away 2001; and her parents John Oakley and Ruth, nee Elwell, Hadley.

Surviving are her nieces and nephews Jackie (Frank) Shewmaker of O'Fallon, Ill., Bob (Debbie) Stonecipher of Brownstown, Ill., Bev (Randy) Tozer of Phoenix, Ariz., Brenda (Doug) Byers of Hillsboro, Ill.,  Bill (Mary Margaret) Stonecipher of St. Louis, Mo., and Bryan (Kathy) Stonecipher of Phoenix, Ariz.; cousins Donna Keele and Janet Young, both of Salem, Ill., and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3- 4 pm, Monday, October 11, 2021, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St,. O'Fallon. A funeral service will follow at 4 pm, Monday, at the funeral home. Graveside service will be at 9:45 am, Friday, October 15, 2021 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
