Obituary

Carl Robert Keck, Jr., age 68, of Belleville, Ill., born June 30, 1953 in Belleville, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 19, 2021.

Bob grew up in O'Fallon, the oldest of four children of Carl and Jeanette, nee Swengross, Keck, Sr., and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School. After serving in the Marine Corps for 2 years as a radio communications tech, he worked for St. Louis National Stockyards Company for many years.

Then he began his lengthy career as a forklift operator with Peerless-Premier Appliance Co., in Belleville, retiring after 30+ years. Bobby was a member of the Millstadt Sportsman's Club for 25 years, and enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom-hunting, gardening, and butchering during hunting season. Bobby was a fun guy to be around, and enjoyed his friends and family, and working jigsaw puzzles and playing games. He maintained a beautiful yard, with a covered patio and fish pond. Bob was a parishioner at St. Peter's Cathedral in Belleville.

He was preceded in death by his father Carl R. Keck, Sr.

Surviving are his wife, Rosanne, nee Todd, Keck, of Belleville, whom he married April 15, 1993; daughter Calista (Vishal) Dosanjh, of Creve Coeur, Mo., step-children David Chaffee of Okawville, Ill., and Julia (Dennis) Wiese of Okawville, Ill.; mother Jeanette Keck of Lebanon; siblings Kathleen (Ken) Henschke of Bellevue, Colo., Michael (Gwen) Keck, Sr., of Coulterville, Ill., and Randy Keck of Carlyle, Ill. Also surviving are grandchildren Olivia Wiese, Arian Dosanjh, Amara Dosanjh, Kyle Wiese, Sophia Dupre-Dosanjh; and great-granddaughter Keshlynn Wiese; his godfather and uncle George "Sonny" Swengross; and aunt Barbara Knewitz; one niece, many nephews, cousins, and great-nieces.

Memorial donations are requested, in lieu of flowers and other gifts, to Shriner's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.wfh-ofallon.com .

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 200 W. Harrison St., Belleville, Ill., with Msgr. John Myler, presiding. Graveside Services will be private.
