Obituary
Brandon Patrick Hankins, age 15, of O'Fallon, born December 28, 1999 in Springfield, Ill., to Richard Anthony and Jean Marie, nee Wallin, Hankins, left this world for his Heavenly home on Thursday, November 12, 2015, while a patient at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
Brandon was an outgoing, friendly, and energetic teenager. He had attended St Nicholas Catholic Church, where he had been active in the Youth Group and as an altar server. He had attended Carriel Jr. High in O'Fallon, and was currently schooled at home. He loved studying history, enjoyed long walks, and playing video games. Brandon belonged to Trail Life USA Scout Troop 78. He participated in food drives to support the O'Fallon Community Food Pantry, and assisted with communion services at Cedar Ridge Healthcare in Lebanon. Always giving of himself, he will live on in others as an organ donor.
Surviving are his parents Richard Anthony Hankins and Jean Marie, nee Wallin, Hankins, of O'Fallon; his older brothers Richard A. Hankins, II of Springfield, Ill., Kristoffer M. Hankins and Nickolas A. Hankins, both of O'Fallon; his maternal grandfather James (Mary) Wallin of Mountain Home, Ark., paternal grandmother Geraldine Hankins of Bartonville, Ill., three nephews, one niece, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of friends from St. Nicholas Youth Group and Troop 78.
Brandon was preceded in death by his grandmother Rosemary Wallin and grandfather John Hankins.
Memorial donations are encouraged to the family to help offset the unexpected expenses during this tragic loss.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, and after 9:00 am, Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the church.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding.
Entombment will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Resurrection Cemetery & Mausoleum, Peoria, Ill.
