Brandon Wood

Brandon Michael Wood, age 51, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 27, 2026 at his home in Collinsville, Illinois.

Brandon was born November 10, 1974 in Belleville, Ill. He grew up in O’Fallon and upon high school graduation, enlisted in the Army National Guard, serving in the Army in Germany and Colorado until 2000. He had formerly served as a civilian Army Recruiter and currently worked in IT Management for EMCO Chemical Distributors in Columbia, Ill. Brandon loved spending time with his friends, whom he genuinely cared for, at The RED Bar in Collinsville, singing karaoke, sharing fun and jokes, and being the life of the party. Brandon was a proud Army veteran and was a life member of Collinsville VFW Post 5691. He had a BIG personality, was a loyal friend, and he will be missed.

Brandon was preceded in death by his mother Julia Marie Gangloff; and his grandparents Joan and Robert Weinel.

Survivors include his children Lucas (Hannah) Wood, Leah Wood, Emma Wood, Elsie Wood, Kayla Dismukes, and Taylor Dismukes; brother Jaime (Adriana) Wood, and twin brother Joshua (Valerie) Wood; father Frank A. Wood, and step-father Timothy Gangloff, and many friends whom he thought of as family.

A Memorial visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm, Monday, May 4, 2026 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O’Fallon. Memories of Brandon will be shared at 7 pm, Monday at the funeral home.

On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, funeral procession will depart from Wolfersberger Funeral Home at 8:45 am for graveside Service with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo. Memorial Donations are suggested to Collinsville VFW Post 5691. Memories may be shared with the family at www.wfh-ofallon.com.
