Byron Keith Joyce, age 77, formerly of O'Fallon & Troy, born November 16, 1944 in Chicago, Ill., passed away Monday evening, September 19, 2022 at his home with his family at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Charles & Rose Elizabeth, nee Byron, Joyce.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine, nee Lash, Joyce, whom he married in 1971; his son Gavin (McKenzie) Joyce of Juneau, Alaska; daughter Colleen (Robbie) Robertson of O'Fallon; three grandchildren Savanna, Seneca, and Brayden; sisters Maureen (David) Colburn and Gayle (Dick Halm) Joyce.
Byron was active in coaching youth sports, including Collinsville Jaycees, girls' softball, Raiders football, and youth basketball. He served as alderman in the city of Troy from 1983-87. He worked in Transportation Logistics Management for many years, and in consulting until his retirement. He was proud to serve as campaign manager for former State Rep. Ron Stephens. Byron was proud of his Irish heritage and his faith was important to him. He was a loving husband and devoted dad. His grandkids could always count on him for a good laugh, and he had a strong influence and big presence in their lives.

Visitation will begin at 10 am , Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Troy United Methodist Church, 407 Edwardsville Rd., Troy, Ill., followed by a Memorial Service to begin at Noon , with Rev. Andy Adams and Rev. Dennis Price officiating.
