Carolyn Jean Butler, nee Tavas, age 69, of Lebanon, born October 29, 1941 in Oakland, Calif., died June 30, 2011 at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center, Lebanon, Illinois.
Carolyn had worked in Customer Service at Sam's Club as a greeter, and had also been employed at McDonald's and Wal-Mart. She attended First Baptist Church of O'Fallon, and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a good cook and her family loved her enchiladas.
She was preceded in death by her mother Amy Tavas and her beloved dog Chester.
Surviving are her husband, Randy Jacobs, of O'Fallon, whom she married in 1990 in Reno, Nevada; her sons Michael (Tammie) Anderson of Oskaloosa, Ia., Werner (Jaime) Schopfer of Collinsville, Ill., five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her friends at FBC O'Fallon and Sam's Club.
Because of Carolyn's love of animals, memorial donations may be made to your favorite pet shelter or pet charity. Her generosity continues, as she has chosen to donate her body for medical research.
