Catherine Alvira Hamilton, nee Braun, age 100, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, born April 4, 1913 in Evansville, Illinois, the oldest of 11 children of Martin and Catherine, nee Wunderlich, Braun, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at her home.
Catherine moved to the metro-east in the 1940s, and worked as a clerk at Famous-Barr and later Central Hardware. She was a Cardinals' baseball fan and an avid flower gardener, always keeping busy with her home and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Suppe "Ham" Hamilton, who died October 16, 1998; her sons Richard W. Hamilton and Paul A. Hamilton; her daughter-in-law Bobbie Hamilton, and several siblings.
Surviving are her dear grandchildren, Keith (Susie) Hamilton, Craig (Carmen) Hamilton, and Pam Whitehouse; her daughter-in-law Christine Hamilton; her great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Connor, and Kennadie Hamilton, Nathan Hamilton, Alexis Nelson, Andrew and Trevor Whitehouse; and her brother Paul Braun.
