Catherine Joy Lewis was born April 29, 1961, in Apple Valley, California. She moved to O'Fallon with her parents through the United States Air Force at age five. Cathy passed away on March 31, 2022, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon. She was a life-long resident of O'Fallon, Ill., where she attended Estelle Kampmeyer Elementary and graduated from O'Fallon Township High School, Class of 1979. She was a loyal laborer that retired after serving 15 years out of Local 670 O'Fallon. Cathy was a devoted wife of Raymond Lewis, together for 32 years. She was a loving mother of her two sons and a kindhearted and affectionate grandmother of her five grandchildren. Cathy was much-loved and known throughout the community by enriched friendships and her giving spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Steigelman.

Surviving are her husband Raymond "Billy" Lewis; her dogs: Stanley and Radar; two children, Matt (Rachel) Hutton and Kyle (Alyssa) Hutton; five grandchildren, Sebastjan Hutton, Zoey Hutton, Chase Hutton, Beckett Hutton, and Wyatt Hutton; siblings, Alan (Nancy) Steigelman, Becky (Mike) Griffin, Pete Steigelman, Don Steigelman, and Lori (David) Gipson.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at O'Fallon United Church of Christ, located at 206 W Adams St. O'Fallon, Ill., 62269. Visitation will be from 10 am – Noon, with a ceremony beginning at Noon, with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. All friends and family are cordially invited to join the family following the ceremony at the American Legion Hall, (Friends of the Moose) 109 N. Penn St., O'Fallon, Ill., 62269 to celebrate and remember the life of Cathy Lewis.
