Charleen Vernier, nee Murphy, age 52, of Shiloh, born July 7, 1958 in Belleville, Ill., to Charles and Helen, nee Bindics, Murphy, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at her home.
Charleen married Kevin Vernier in 1985, and they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She was a 1976 graduate of O'Fallon Township H.S. and attended Patricia Stevens College for secretarial training. She worked for Mercantile Bank and US Bank in mortgage servicing. She attended St. Clare Catholic Church, was a supporter of OTHS Boys Baseball, and fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Charleen was a loving wife, mother, friend, daughter, and aunt. Her smile and presence will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles F. Murphy.
Mrs. Vernier is survived by her husband, Kevin and son Justin, of Shiloh; mother Helen Murphy of O'Fallon, and brother Charles (Sharon) Murphy of Belleville. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Mike (Diane) Vernier of O'Fallon, Larry (Cathy) Vernier of Charlotte, N.C., Jim (Ellen) Vernier of Shiloh, and Jay Vernier of Shiloh; father-in-law James A. Vernier and mother-in-law Lorraine, nee Havel, Vernier. Also surviving are nieces Heather, Abby, Andrea, Amanda, many loving friends, and a host of pets.
Memorial Donations in honor of Charleen are suggested to American Cancer Society.
Visitation: Friends may call at St. Clare Catholic Church from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday Nov. 30, 2010 and again from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Wednesday Dec. 1, 2010.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday Dec. 1, 2010 at St. Clare Catholic Church with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
