Obituary
Charles Schmidt, Jr., age 68, of Collinsville, Ill., born February 6, 1949 in Effingham, Ill., died November 13, 2017 at his home.
Charlie was a hard-working and successful self-employed businessman and had operated various businesses over the years, most notably Schmidt Motor Lines, Inc. Most recently, he and his wife Sandy operated a property management/real estate company. Charlie loved his family and truly loved and cared for his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents O. Charles Schmidt, Sr., and Rochelle, nee Pickle, Schmidt.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy; his children Christian Schmidt-Becker of Edwardsville, Courtney Schmidt-Lotz of Farina, Shannan Blackmon of Shelbyville, and Wyatt Tillman of N.C.; 17 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
