Charlotte E. Patzer, nee Petersen, age 94, of O'Fallon, passed away at St. Paul's Home, Belleville, March 11, 2022.
Charlotte was born and raised in Audubon, Iowa, and moved to Hastings, Neb. her senior year of high school. As an enterprising teenager, Charlotte grew her own corn and sold it from her wagon. After high school graduation, she worked at the Navy Depot in Hastings, where she met her husband-to-be Bernard Patzer. They moved to O'Fallon in 1957. She enjoyed quilting, working crossword puzzles, and listening to music. Charlotte played the cello for many years and had a remarkable collection of teddy bears. She enjoyed her job as a communications technician at Scott AFB, and retired in 1993. For over thirty years, she was a proud member of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).
She was preceded in death by husband Bernard 'Pat' Patzer, granddaughter Jill Carroll, daughter-in-law Misty Patzer, sisters Mary Possehn and Beulah Etter, and brothers Dallas and Dwayne Petersen.
Surviving are her children Barbara (Jake) Germany of Belleville; Debra Carroll of O'Fallon; and Jerry Patzer of Booneville, Ark.; granddaughters Diane and Donna Germany, Rachel (Will) Richter, Shannon Carroll, Lindsey (Dion) Bellamy, and Ayiana Patzer, four great-grandchildren Makayla Mays, Alexa Richter, Madisyn Carroll, and James McWilliams; and her sister Wyvetta Hunt of Omaha.

The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service to begin at 11 am, with Msgr. William Hitpas officiating. Burial will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
