Clairbel Smith, nee Freeman, age 81, born February 16, 1933 in Cushing, Okla., died Saturday, March 22, 2014, in O'Fallon, Ill., surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Smith spent her youth in Chase, Kans. She worked at many different restaurants as a waitress and was a loving and devoted mother.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James King, second husband Orville Wray Adams, and third husband Charlie Smith; sons Kenneth Lee King, Robert Mitchell King, and Perry James King; her parents Vern and Edna, nee Umberham, Feeman; and brother Capt. Donald Freeman (Vietnam KIA).
Surviving are her children Rickey Dale (Norma) King of Gravette, Ark., Patricia Marie King of Stella, Mo., and Gail Renee Adams of O'Fallon.
Because of Clairbel's love of dogs, and in memory of her dog, Oscar, memorials are suggested to English Springer Rescue America (

Visitation: A Memorial visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.
