Obituary
Clifford "Cliff" Nelson, 77, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born July 11, 1930, in Belleville, Ill., died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Nelson was a contract specialist for the U.S. Army and retired in 1991. He was a member of St. Clair Masonic Lodge 24, Belleville, Ill., and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Fairview Heights, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Nelson and Mary E., nee Stephenson, Nelson; four brothers; and six sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Aletha M., nee Braun, Nelson; two daughters, Diane (David) Trimble of Belleville, Ill., and Beth (Keevin) Higgins of Fairview Heights, Ill.; four grandchildren, Stephanie and Stephen Trimble, Kristina (Travis) Dallas and Kayla Higgins; and a great-grandson, Teagan Dallas.
Visitation: There will be no public visitation.
Funeral: Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Ill., with Pastor Jeff Bealmear, Christ United Methodist Church presiding.
