Clita Sue Adams, nee Jackenheimer, age 66, of O'Fallon, Ill., born July 13, 1952 in Ashland, Ohio, to Virgil "Jack" and Glenna, nee Moses, Jackenheimer, died Saturday, October 7, 2018, at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Ill., surrounded by her family.
Clita grew up in Hayesville, Ohio, where she graduated from Hillsdale High School. She found satisfaction is helping people in her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and as a Medical Assistant for a podiatrist. She lived in O'Fallon since 1989, relocating here with her family due to her husband's civil service employment. She attended St. Clare Church for many years. Clita enjoyed flower gardening and loved animals and will be missed by her special cat Norris. She loved her family and was especially close to her nieces and nephews, always sending cards and celebrating their milestones.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years Gary H. Adams, of O'Fallon; children Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Thomason of Troy, Ill., and Brian (Sarah) Adams of University City, Mo., grandchildren Vanessa and Trotter Adams and one on the way, Stella Thomason; her sister Twyla (Mike) Cunningham, brother Gary Jackenheimer; special niece Christy Jelinek and her sons Dane and Spencer; special nephews David (Heather) Hess and children Chelsea and Cameron; and Doug Bauer; and many cousins and extended family members throughout Ohio, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Philadelphia.
Memorial donations are suggested to either National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Susan G. Komen for Breast Cancer, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
In keeping with Clita's spirit of generosity, she has donated her body for medical science, in hopes of helping others.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, with a Memorial Service to begin at 6:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Clyde Grogan.
