Clyde H. Kaemmerer, age 90, of Piqua, Ohio, formerly of O'Fallon, Ill., born March 7, 1921 in Belleville, Ill., passed away March 28, 2011 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio, after a short illness.
Clyde retired as shop foreman from Peabody Coal. He was a member of AF & AM Lodge 576 and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 487; a member of O'Fallon Sportsmen's Club and O'Fallon United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Stella, nee Edwards, Kaemmerer; son-in-law Daryl Maggine and sister-in-law Juanita Kaemmerer.
He is survived by his wife Laura, nee Wieman, Kaemmerer, whom he married October 16, 1943 in O'Fallon; daughter Diana Maggine of Columbia, Mo., son Clyde (Rosa) Kaemmerer of Piqua, Ohio, brother Glen Kaemmerer of Springdale, Ark., five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials in honor of Mr. Kaemmerer may be made to O'Fallon United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge 576, or Order of Eastern Star Chapter 487 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, April 1, 2011 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home. Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service at 6:00 pm. Masonic Services will be at 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Walter Gerth officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
