Obituary
Dallas Schmitt, age 92, born October 28, 1921 in Belleville, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
A life-long resident of Belleville and O'Fallon, Dallas had retired as a welder from the steel mills. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A wonderfully talented painter, Dallas was a great supporter of the arts and PBS.
He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Schmitt.
Surviving are his friends Ron and Nancy Fuccillo of Lebanon, Ill., and a dear special friend Dr. Ester Lauer of St. Louis and her son Derek (Debra) Lauer.
Friends may gather from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home. Procession will depart the funeral home promptly at 1:45 p.m. for the cemetery.
Service will begin at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis County, Mo., with military honors.
