David Lowell Attaway, Major, USAF, retired, age 61, of Shiloh, born July 7, 1953 in Birmingham, Ala., passed away August 29, 2014, at his home.
Maj. Attaway retired from the US Air Force, where he had served as Services Squadron Commander. He had attended Middle Tennessee State University and was currently employed at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
He was preceded in death by his father Jim (Nell) Attaway and mother Jean (Al) Warner.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 41 years Jan, nee Thomas, Attaway, of Shiloh; children Ashlee Attaway of Belleville, and Nathan (Julianne) Attaway of O'Fallon; and sisters Deb Warner and Suzann Cordell, both of Columbia, Tenn., grandchildren Mariah Greer and Micah Attaway, and his precious great-grandson Camden; his mother-in-law Barbara Thomas; beloved nieces and nephews, and his brother-at-heart and fellow little league coach John Beck of Shiloh; and his loyal dog Jake.
Memorial donations in memory of David Attaway are suggested to USO or Wounded Warriors. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Alfred Greco, and Dr. Kashif Bhutto and staff, and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Funeral: Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
