David Jalageas, age 59, of Belleville, born November 30, 1952 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Monday morning, August 20, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, Ill.
David was a graduate of Our Lady Queen of Peace grade school and Althoff Catholic High School, and attended SIUE. He had a 25-year career with Target (Dayton-Hudson Corp) in logistics. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, a World War II history buff and member of the World War II History Museum in New Orleans.
Dave had a kind and gentle spirit, coupled with a good sense of humor, of which he maintained throughout his entire life. He will be deeply missed by all who have loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David J. and Marie, nee Harrington, Jalageas; and his sister Kathleen Ann Casey.
Surviving are his brother-in-law Don Casey of O'Fallon; and his friends, the Larry Closterman family; and his colleagues from work.
Memorial donations are suggested to American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call at a memorial visitation after 4:00 pm, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.
Funeral: Memorial Service will begin at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the funeral home, with Rev. Msgr. John W. McEvilly, V.G., officiating.
