Delores Virginia "Doots" Kuehn, nee Scheibel, age 91, of O'Fallon, born May 14, 1922 in O'Fallon, Ill., passed away October 7, 2013.

A 1940 graduate of OTHS, Doots worked alongside her husband and his family as a typesetter for the O'Fallon Progress. She was a charter member and faithful parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, camping, and playing the piano. She will be remembered as the "Best Mom Ever," for baking cookies, and sharing her home-made afghans.

Mrs. Kuehn was preceded in death by her dear husband, Stanley J. Kuehn, Sr., whom she married August 1, 1946 and who died July 28, 2013; her son Stanley J. Kuehn, Jr., and her parents Ernst and Freida, nee Schmidt, Scheibel, her brother Elmo Scheibel, and a special grandmother Minnie Scheibel.

Surviving are her daughters, Janet (Robert) Smith of Newburgh, Ind., and Nancy (John) Suedmeyer of Fairview Heights, Ill., two granddaughters Mindy Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Stacey (Kris) Layton of Indianapolis, Ind., and two great-granddaughters, Briley and Breena Layton.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Nicholas Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call after 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at the church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Interment will follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
