Denise D. McCree, age 65, of Lebanon, Ill., born June 9, 1957 in Oxnard, Calif., to Charles B. McCree and Georgia Mae Norman, passed away October 25, 2022 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

Denise grew up in California, the fourth of six children. As a single mother, she moved to Texas as a young adult. She worked a variety of jobs, including a cook at Dairy Queen, Housekeeper at Texas A&M, and with Caterpillar in Peoria, Ill. She also created her own venture as a self-employed home healthcare provider. She settled in the O'Fallon-Lebanon area about nine years ago, moving here to be with her son and his family. Denise was an integral part of her grandchildren's lives; they will remember her as fiesty, courageous, fiery and stubborn, but still loving, nurturing, and funny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Anthony Glen Snow.

Surviving are her son Michael (Kari) Murray, Jr., of O'Fallon; grandchildren Michael Murray, III, Tiahna Murray, Trinity Murray, and Tamarah Murray; siblings Mary Jo Ingram, Wilmore Leon Reed, Bridgett Casandra McCree, and Regina Francine Snow.
