Dennis Frank Metz, age 56, of Rockaway Beach, Mo., formerly of O'Fallon, Ill., born in Belleville, Ill., died at Skaggs Regional Medical Center, Branson, Mo.

Dennis attended St. Clare grade school and was a 1972 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School. He learned his mechanic trade at Bailey's Vocational School in St. Louis and retired from Clark Forklifts of St. Louis. His dream upon retirement was to move to Branson where he could enjoy fishing, barbecuing, listening to good ol' country music, and enjoying the simple life of spending time with his friends. He spent the last three years living this dream. He was a loving father and husband, generous with his time, living life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Frank Metz and Dorothy Barbara, nee Siegel, Metz.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda, nee Loper, Metz of Rockaway Beach, Mo., his son Jason (Penny) Metz of O'Fallon; daughter Brandy Metz of O'Fallon; his grandchildren, Austin, Savannah, Casarah, Caylob, and Hayden Metz; and his sister Diane (Robert) Hill of Freeburg.

Memorials in honor of Mr. Metz may be made to the American Liver Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, May 1, 2011, and from 9:00 – 10:00 am, Monday, May 2, 2011 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral: Funeral will be 10:00 am, Monday, May 2, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
