Obituary

Donald John Deutsch, age 75, of Shiloh, born in Shiloh, to Cardell "Mike" and Aurelia, nee Kruetzer, passed away Saturday morning, April 24, 2010.

Donald worked as an enamel worker at Peerless-Premier Appliance Company in Belleville since 1952 and was still employed at the time of his passing. He was a talented musician and piano player and began his musical career at the age of seven. He started out with the Four Notes, then joined Bill Hubert & the Starlet Quintet. Other bands included the Bob Donahill Orchestra, the Deutschmen Orchestra, and the Don Wayne Trio. Donnie loved fishing and could be seen driving through town in his vintage cars, particularly the red 1979 Cadillac Coupe deVille. Mr. Deutsch was a loving father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ferol, nee Dressel, Deutsch; his parents, his brothers Duane and Dennis, and daughter Valerie Bruehl.

He is survived by his daughter, Mia Deutsch of Shiloh; grandsons Aaron (fiancee Sarah Bailey) Bruehl, and Joshua Bruehl, both of Belleville; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members that he loved very much.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice and will be received at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral: 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Valley Township Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
