Obituary

Doris Marie Beaston, nee Drovetta, age 85, of Shiloh, born December 30, 1925, in E. St. Louis, Ill., passed away suddenly on July 5, 2011.

Mrs. Beaston was a parishioner at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Shiloh. She was a devoted wife and mother to three sons. She was generous with her time and talents, and enjoyed baking and ceramics. She was a good listener, a good friend, and had a heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her father, Matt Drovetta; her siblings, Elizabeth, Fred, and Matt Drovetta; and her beloved aunt, who was like a mother to her, Genevieve Wyman.

Surviving are her husband, M.G. "Bud" Beaston of Shiloh, whom she married February 26, 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Belleville; her sons, Charles (Jeanie) Beaston of Youngsville, La., James Beaston of Tamarac, Fla., and John Beaston of Shiloh, Ill.

Also surviving are her granddaughters, Mandy Schaeffer of Woodlawn, Ill., and Angela Beaston of Fairview Heights, Ill., and great grandson Tyler James Schaeffer of Woodlawn, Ill.

Memorial donations in Doris' honor are suggested to Corpus Christi Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 11:00 am – 3: 00 pm, Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon. A Prayer Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.

Visitation will continue at 10:00 am, Monday, July 11, 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, July 11, 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Shiloh, with Msgr. James Margason presiding. Burial will be at a later date.
