Dorothy I. Carson (nee Stoeckel), age 81, of O'Fallon, born in Millstadt Township, IL, passed away in her O'Fallon home Sunday evening.

Dorothy was born to Joseph V. and Frieda M. (nee Pflugmacher) Stoeckel. She married Richard Carson, Jr. on February 23, 1949 at St. James Church, Millstadt, IL. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon. She enjoyed crocheting, golfing and gardening. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by sons Richard J. (Christy) Carson, Jr. of O'Fallon, Eric N. (Jennifer) Carson of San Antonio, TX; daughters Dianne C. (Danny) Worthen of Belleville, Donna L. (Dennis) Vasquez, of Columbia, IL; daughter-in-law, Linda G. Carson of Belleville; grandchildren Danny L. (Rebecca) Worthen, Julie L. Davinroy, Nicholas R. (fiancé, Tessa) Carson, Eric N. Carson, Jr., Brian E. (Misty) Carson, Denise L. (Robert) Korves, David L. Goedecke, Danielle L. Goedecke, Dorothy L. Vasquez, Dennis L. Vasquez, Adrienne R. (Nathaniel) Gotsch, Melanie R. Carson; great-grandchildren, Ayla B. Carson, Andrew J. Worthen, Daniel R. Gotsch, Isabella M. Gotsch, and step-grandchildren Marty Swope, Randy Swope, Faith Clark, Jill Mills, Chad Vasquez, Dana McClane, and sister Marie Boehm of Millstadt.

Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, who passed away September 28, 2006, her parents, her son Michael G. Carson, and grandson John W. Carson and brother Joseph A. Stoeckel.

Memorial Donations in honor of Mrs. Carson may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Family Hospice, or in the form of masses.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon with Monsignor William Hitpas presiding. Interment will be at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
