Dorothy Ellen Haney, nee Brown, age 85, formerly of Fairmont City, born June 16, 1924, in Stephenson, Ala., passed away in St. Louis, April 12, 2010. She was a devoted mother, talented seamstress and she enjoyed attending Copper Creek Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Haney, parents Jim and Mary Jane, nee McKenzie, Brown, sons Ellis Haney, Willie Haney Jr., and one in infancy, daughter Viola Mehrtens, grandchildren Valerie Slaughter, Diane Haney, and Timothy Haney.

She is survived by her children, Melvin (Jackie) Haney of Maryville, Charles (Barbara) Haney of O'Fallon and his son, Charlie Haney, Bertha (Lester) Hoerig of Burleson, Tex., and Lulu (Bill) Sullivan of Cahokia; 13 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Memorials in honor of Mrs. Haney are requested to BJC Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.

Funeral: A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 16, 2010, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
