Obituary

Dorothy M. "Dotty" Myers, nee Morrill, age 83, of O'Fallon, born April 8, 1932 in Amesbury, Mass., died December 19, 2015 at home in O'Fallon, Ill.

Dotty was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother whose love, compassion and gentleness touched her family and all those who knew her. As a proud Navy wife, she raised her family and supported her husband's service to the nation during his many deployments. She taught Sunday School classes, was a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader and volunteered with several organizations over the years. For most of her life, she loved expressing her creativity in arts and crafts. She enjoyed water relaxation classes, playing cards, socializing with friends and spending time with her family. She was an active member of O'Fallon First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Earl Myers, Jr., her sons William James Myers and Joseph Michael Myers; her parents Daniel and Alice Morrill and ten brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her children Robin M. (David) Rogers of O'Fallon, Ill., Darlene F. Myers of Jacksonville, Fla., and Gary L (Susan) Myers of North Stonington, Conn.; eight grandchildren Shaun Myers, Eric (Claire) Myers, Billy Myers, Robin Marie Myers, Holly Myers, Tiffany Blackney, Vicki (Aaron) Knipmeyer and Tim (April) Rogers; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister Charlotte Shennett of Amesbury, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial donations are suggested to the local missions fund of the O'Fallon First United Methodist Church to aid the needy in O'Fallon.

Visitation: Friends may call from 1:00 – 4:00 pm, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill.

Funeral: Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 am, Monday, December 28, 2015, at O'Fallon First Methodist Church, with Pastor Ron Dickinson officiating.

Her cremated remains will be interred next to her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in a private family committal service.
