Dorothy Edna Mae Ahl, nee Bevirt, age 83, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of rural Caseyville, Ill., born February 4, 1930 in Belleville, Ill., passed away December 7, 2013 at Mercy Skilled Nursing Center in Creve Coeur, Mo.

The only child of Erroll and Anita, nee Siebert, Bevirt, Dorothy grew up on the family farm in rural Caseyville. She met her husband, Robert, at a VFW Dance in his hometown of August, Mo. They married in June 1954 and lived most of the next 60 years in Chesterfield, Mo.

A beautiful and sophisticated young woman, Dorothy dreamed of becoming a model. She enjoyed arts & crafts and was a dedicated volunteer at Children's Home Society of Missouri. She was a loving mother, always offering open arms and endless hugs to family and friends alike. Dorothy had a generous spirit, was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren, and always put the needs of others above herself.

Always dressed in pink, Dorothy would appreciate those attending her funeral to come dressed in pink.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are her husband Robert Ahl, of Chesterfield, Mo.; her daughter Priscilla Ahl of St. Louis; her son Robert (Jane) Ahl of Webster Groves, Mo., and her four much-loved grandchildren, Anita, Zachary, Trevor, and Michael.

Memorial donations would be appreciated to Children's Home Society of Missouri or to Dent County Animal Welfare Society (DCAWS) and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill., and again after 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at the funeral home.

Funeral: Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill., with Rev. Mike Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Caseyville, Ill.
