Douglas F. Collins, Major, USAF (retired), age 82, of O'Fallon, born January 17, 1940 in Batavia, New York, passed away Thursday morning, April 28, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, following a brief illness.

Doug served in the US Air Force for 20 years, retiring from Scott AFB. He then worked for 15 years with AT&T, continuing in the same career field with Contracting and Procurement. Doug was a sports enthusiasts and was a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues. He enjoyed being on the golf course, and was looking forward to his next tee time.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Helen, nee Riley, Collins; and his wife Judith Collins, who died May 1, 2010.

Surviving are his children Sergeant Major USMC (retired) Joel (Lori) Collins of Belleville, Jennifer (Jim) Larrison of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Jon Collins of O'Fallon; his grandchildren Captain USMC Douglas (Elaine) Collins II, Dane Collins, Dryver Larrison, Stryde Larrison; and two great-granddaughters Thea and Daisy Collins.
