Drew William Toennies, age 20, of Freeburg, formerly of O'Fallon, passed away Monday evening, April 12, 2021.
Drew attended St. Clare grade school where he created great memories; he participated in soccer and bowling while attending Althoff High School. Drew was a student at University of Central Missouri. He was funny and fun-loving; he liked to spend time with his large extended blended family playing board games. He loved being outdoors at Tommy's ranch, riding four-wheelers and swimming, and hanging with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Betty Eaton.
Surviving are his parents Andrew (Lisa) Toennies, and Kelly (Tommy Golder) Toennies; his siblings Evan Toennies (US Navy), Tia Golder, Anna Davidson, Tiffany (Joe) Cruz, Zachary Pesek and Austin Pesek; his niece Raegen Cruz; his grandparents Melvin and Alice Toennies, Dan and Myrfie Twitty, Lee and Sharon Asbury, Thomas and Theresa Golder; his numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly; and his faithful companion, his dog Duke.
In lieu of flowers and other memorial gifts or donations, the Toennies family requests that you perform a random act of kindness, share time with others, reach out to someone who may be struggling, and to be aware of others' needs.
Visitation: 5 – 8 pm, Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon. Visitation will continue after 10 am, Monday, April 19, 2021 at the church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding.
