Obituary

Earl Eugene Armstrong, age 87, of O'Fallon, born October 18, 1930, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

Mr. Armstrong served as an aircraft weapons loader in the Air Force, and was stationed in Korea in 1950 and Vietnam from 1966-67, retiring in 1970.  He later worked for A.O. Smith as a dispatcher and was also an over-the-road truck driver. His hobbies included landscape oil painting, fishing, and shooting pool. He was the 1968-69 South Dakota state champion in Eight Ball and Nine Ball. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, nee Jackson, Armstrong, who died December 12, 2017; his parents Richard and Marion, nee Matthews, Armstrong; his son Rodney Lee Armstrong; and siblings Richard, Betty and Vera.

Surviving are his three children Pamela (Duane) Winkler, Earl Armstrong, and Kimberly (Dan) Hocher; his grandchildren Neal (Heather), Tiffany (Keith), Katina, Danny, Drake; two great-grandchildren Noah and Amelia, and five step-great-grandchildren Zach, Gabe, Josh, Brittany, and Joey.

Memorial donations are suggested to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and may be sent to the funeral home. Flowers may also be sent to the funeral home; please contact the funeral home for delivery details.

Funeral: Private funeral services will be held, to include full military honors at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
