Edgar Anthony Munie, age 92, of Belleville, Ill., passed away Monday evening, May 28, 2007. Edgar was born September 19, 1914 to George Joseph and Magdelena T. (nee Dammerich) Munie in Belleville, Ill.

Mr. Munie was a long-time parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon and was a dairy farmer for many years. He was an antique gasoline-engine enthusiast; often traveling to shows, and was a collector of antique farm equipment. He was a proud and loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by five children: son Wayne (Carolyn) Munie of Troy, and their children, Angela, Joseph, Michael, Nanette, and John; daughter Mary (Tom) Herbert of O'Fallon, and their children, James, Timothy, Susan, Thomas, and Kenneth; son George (Billie) Munie of Fayetteville, Ill.; daughter Anna Mae (Kurt) Tegtmeier of Belleville, and their children, Kurt, Philip, and Lynn, and daughter Dolores (Kirk) McCullough of Belleville, and their children, Rick, Dan, and Ken; sisters-in-law, Viola Titter of O'Fallon and Rose Munie of Caseyville; brother-in-law Joseph (Adeline) Thoman of La Porte, Ind., and 22 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Munie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie (nee Thoman) Munie, whom he married November 20, 1935 and who passed away Oct. 9, 2006, his parents, and 12 siblings: Jerome, Florine Becherer, Edna, Oscar, George, Mabel Peach, Leona Poignee, Myrtle Zimmerman, Willard, Adele Deutsch, Teresa Lillie, and Larcelle.

Memorial Donations are requested to either St. Clare Catholic Church Building Fund or Heartland Hospice.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Friday, June 1, 2007 at St Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon.

Funeral Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am, Friday, June 1, 2007 at St. Clare Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Rev. James Deiters presiding.

Interment will follow at Mt Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh.
