Edna Mae Braswell, nee Weissert, age 81, born August 24, 1942 in Collinsville, Ill., passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2024.
Edna grew up on a farm, one of eleven children born to Edwin and Clara, nee Peach, Weissert. Edna met her husband Robert while he was a young airman stationed at Scott AFB. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband Bob in his final years. She was a parishioner at St. Clare Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a den mother for her sons' Scouts and taught Bible study in her home for years. Edna never judged a soul and especially loved holding and being around babies. Edna was a strong woman who loved hard.
