Edward Arnold Bugger, also known as "Cuz," age 74, of O'Fallon, Ill., born September 15, 1945 in Belleville, Ill., passed away Tuesday morning, May 5, 2020.

Ed grew up in Blackjack, the rural farming community north of O'Fallon. He attended St. Clare Catholic School and graduated from OTHS in 1963. He was a stand-out baseball player as a catcher throughout high school. He coached many area baseball and softball teams, to include children, youth, and the Mon-Clair League's O'Fallon Merchants baseball team. He played with the St. Clare Old-Timers softball team. He was an avid pinochle and poker card player.

As a young man, Ed worked for Railway Express, then many years for W.T. Grant Co., and retired 12 years ago from AAA Credit. Ed was a charter member of the O'Fallon Boosters, and was active for many years in local homecoming events and Mayfest parades. For a short time in the early 1980s, Ed owned the local Ice Cream Haven. He and his wife Judy, along with partners Don and Dee Kirsch, owned Two Kitchens catering business for 19 years. Ed was a member of Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and was active in his parish seniors group at St. Clare Church.

Ed was the fun "Grandpa Bugger," who knew just how to get the answers from his grandkids that their parents couldn't get.

He was preceded in death by his father Omar Bugger; his mother Lorine Bugger Tonnies; his step-father Paul Tonnies; his sisters Luella Hollenkamp and Shirley (Lloyd) Roberson; and his brother Elmer (Patricia) Bugger.

Surviving are his wife Judy, whom he married September 22, 1966, on a hot afternoon at St. Clare Catholic Church; his children Marcie (Rich) Lapolice of Caseyville, Ill., Eric (Tracy) Bugger of Dayton, Ohio, and Joni (Brad) Fultz of O'Fallon; grandchildren Kevin (friend Delany Pfister) Jackson, Conner (Brittani) Jackson, Carly Jackson, Brittney Bateman, Lindsey Bugger, Ella Fultz, and Owen Fultz; two great-grandchildren Danica Jackson and Colton Schott; and brother-in-law Dennis Hollenkamp. Also surviving are many cousins, to include his good friends Will (Judi) Bugger of O'Fallon; and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
