Edwin Joseph Koesterer, age 87, of O'Fallon, Illinois, born October 10, 1925, in Pittsburg, Kansas, died July 12, 2013, in Belleville, Illinois.
Mr. Koesterer was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of WWII, and retired from Swift and Company.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Joyce, nee Berberich, Koesterer; sons, Michael (Julie ) Koesterer and Mark (Miles Dudley) Koesterer; two grandsons, Rhyse and Liam Koesterer; sister Eleanor Gallas; brother Maurice (Lois) Koesterer, and nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Clare Catholic Church "Save the Steeple" fund , c/o St. Clare Church, 1411 Cross Street, O'Fallon, Illinois 62269.
Funeral: Graveside Service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at O'Fallon City Cemetery, with Rev. James Deiters officiating. Family and friends may gather at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 West Washington St., O'Fallon, between 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., or meet directly at the cemetery.
