Elaine Laura Lopez, nee Buehler, age 81, of Caseyville, Ill., born January 17, 1933 to Valentine and Molly, nee Schmid, Buehler, passed away Monday morning, February 3, 2014.

Mrs. Lopez grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1951. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church, Fairview Heights. She enjoyed her pets, feeding the birds, and had a delightful sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Lester Buehler.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Frank J. Lopez, of Caseyville, Ill., daughter Susan Wilke of Mich., sons Edward (Lynn) Lopez of Mass., and Patrick Lopez of New York; grandchildren Ross and Riley Wilke; Breanna (Michael) Benoit, Edward Lopez, Jr., and Alexandra Rushing; three great-grandchildren; sister Lois (Leroy) Guttowsky of Saginaw, Mich., and nephews Michael and John Guttowsky.

In lieu of flowers and other gifts, donations are requested to Bethany Lutheran Church.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Friday, February 7, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Fairview Heights, Ill. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, at the church, led by Rev. James Deiters.

Funeral: Service will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, February 7, 2014, at the church, with Rev. Jeffrey Hemmer officiating.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 for a 9:15 am Graveside Service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo., with Rev. Jeff Hemmer officiating.
