Obituary
Eldon A. Guttersohn, age 78, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 in his home. Eldon was born October 9, 1928 in Lebanon, Illinois.
He was a Korean War veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Belleville Senior Citizens' Club, Moose Lodge 1561 Edwardsville, Knights of Columbus 4239 O'Fallon, and Metro East Automotive Lodge #313. He was an auto body repairman for 30 years, retiring from Gib Harter Auto Body in O'Fallon.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider making donations to Family Hospice of Belleville, 5110 W. Main, Belleville, IL 62226.
He is survived by his sister Arlene Reddick of Escondido, California; many cousins and friends.
Mr. Guttersohn was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Minnie (nee Zisel) Guttersohn; wife, Betty F. (nee Steehlinger) Guttersohn and special friend Jean Bernhardt.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington Street, O'Fallon with Msgr. William Hitpas officiating.
Cremation will follow with interment of the cremated remains in St. John's Evangelical Cemetery, Black Jack, Illinois, at a later date.
