Mary "Eloise" McKinney, nee Bryan, age 83, of O'Fallon, Ill., born March 30, 1929 at home, near Marion, in Williamson County , Ill., passed away Monday, February 11, 2013.
The youngest of five children, Eloise was raised in Southern Illinois. While visiting a friend in Phoenix, she met Thomas D. McKinney, and they were soon married on May 4, 1949. She was a devoted military wife, supporting his career over the years. After his retirement, they returned to southern Illinois. Eloise worked at various retail stores in the O'Fallon area, including The Young Set at Southview Plaza, Keg Crate & Barrel, and the Scott AFB Base Exchange. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas D. McKinney, Chief Warrant Officer Four, US Air Force, (retired); parents Ernest and Fay, nee Osburn, Bryan, and son-in-law Ardell Miller, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Jane (Jack) Miller Jaczinski, of Belleville;
grandsons, Joel T. (Jerrilyn) Miller of Belleville, Todd A. Miller of Belleville;
step-grandchildren, Jana L. Jaczinski of St. Louis and Justin C. Jaczinski of Belleville; and her special niece Kathi (Ken) Tomicich, of Calif.
