Emma C. Bugger, nee Hohrein, age 104, born June 12, 1914 in O'Fallon, Ill., passed away December 4, 2018 at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Ill.
A lifelong member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Emma was currently the oldest parishioner. She was a past member of the O'Fallon Senior Citizens.
Emma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed playing bingo, quilting, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and loved a good wrestling match.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Bugger, whom she married September 27, 1934, and who passed away July 2, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents Casper and Mary, nee Kroen, Hohrein; three brothers Victor, Arthur, and John Hohrein; and one sister Clara, nee Hohrein, Frederich.
Surviving are her daughter Marilyn (Robert) Glazebrook of O'Fallon, and two sons Clarence "Bud" (Mary Ann) Bugger of Quincy, Ill., and Will (Judi) Bugger of O'Fallon; eight grandchildren Robert (Janet) Glazebrook of Eureka, Mo., Rebecca (Alan) Braverman of St. Louis, Mo., Kim (Kevin) Schwartz of Columbia, Ill., Steve Glazebrook of Bloomington, Ill., David (Gayle) Bugger of Quincy, Ill., Diane (David) Shupe of Quincy, Ill., Andrea (Robert) Picchietti of O'Fallon, and Stacie (Shawn) Mayberry of Mascoutah, Ill., 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; niece Lorraine Weaver, and nephews Harold (Ada) Frederich and Edward (Judy) Bugger.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Kevin Pritchett and all of the healthcare providers at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehab Center for the kind and compassionate care given to our mother. We would also like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses, and all the staff at Memorial East Hospital for their many kindnesses.
Memorial donations would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital or as Masses.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 11:00 am, Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., Shiloh.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, December 10, 2018 at the church, with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Illinois.
