Emma Marie "Midge" Behrens, nee Rothkegel, age 93, born February 11, 1917 near O'Fallon, Ill., the fifth of eight children, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010, under the loving care of family and staff at Nazareth Living Center, St. Louis County, Mo.

As a young woman, Midge worked as a seamstress at Ely Walker Shirt Company in Belleville for six years until her marriage to William R. Behrens on May 16, 1941. They lived in O'Fallon for a short time before moving to their home in Belleville, where they resided until their deaths.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Emma, nee Roberts, Rothkegel; her husband William R. Behrens, who passed away January 13, 2003; and all seven of her siblings.

She is survived by her two sons, Curtis Behrens of Belleville; and Roger (Linda) Behrens of St. Louis; and two granddaughters, Jennifer (Greg) Sertl of St. Louis; and Kristin (Tim) Morland of Lawrence, Kansas. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Giulina Sertl, Henry Morland, and Rose Morland.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Graveside Service will be at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon.
