Bud Pfeiffer, age 84, of O'Fallon, born to Cyril and Marie (nee Feder) Pfeiffer, passed away March 10, 2009. He attended Cathedral Catholic High School, where he played football. He was a licensed private pilot and participated in recreational boxing as a young man. He farmed most of his life and also worked as a tire inspector for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. He was a faithful member of St. Clare Catholic Church and a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council # 4239. He was a loving father and grandfather, and found great joy in watching his grandchildren's sporting activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of nearly 40 years Georgia (nee Taylor) Pfeiffer, and his second wife Natalie (nee Coyle) Pfeiffer.
He is survived by his children Robert J. (Barbara) Pfeiffer, Steven J. Pfeiffer, Joanne M. (Jeff) Lauber, all of O'Fallon; and Michael L. (Sharon) Pfeiffer of Springfield, Ill.; and his sister Rita Wandro of O'Fallon. Also surviving are his grandchildren Bobbie Jo (Beau) Brown, Steven M. Pfeiffer, Matt L. (special friend Laura Cox) Lauber, Christopher T. Pfeiffer, Alex Pfeiffer, Jeannette M. Pfeiffer, and Kayla D. Pfeiffer; and six great grandchildren.
Memorials in honor of Mr. Pfeiffer are requested to Glenn Schott Scholarship Fund at Althoff Catholic High School, 5401 West Main St., Belleville, IL 62226 or may be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 and 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.
Funeral: Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10:45 am., for a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. Clare Catholic Church in Shiloh. Interment will follow at Green Mount Cemetery, Belleville.
